For the final paper (1500-2000 words) you will perform an analysis of a film of your choice, using the theoretical/conceptual frameworks studied to make an argument. You will choose one film and explain why it is historically and culturally important.
Your paper will examine one films of your choice. You need to formulate a thesis that argues for the significance of your chosen film within their historical and cultural contexts. In other words, why is this film historically or culturally important? You also need to formulate your own opinions about why the film is important—do not only quote other people saying it is.

Work will be evaluated on the basis of content, carefulness and thoroughness of presentation according to the assignment. Work which demonstrates the principles of academic writing and research discussed in class will be rewarded. Papers must be submitted electronically through blackboard, as well as submitted as a hard copy.

Your essay must:

1. Be double-spaced in a standard 12pt font

2. Include an exact word count on the first page

3. Include accurate citations using an academically recognized citation method MLA, Chicago, Harvard (i.e. in page references + a bibliography that includes full citations). You may not use APA.
